Sharon Appelbaum is based in Los Angeles and assists with Simon & Partners client matters on the West Coast. Ms. Applebaum has extensive trial and investigatory experience. Ms. Appelbaum was a prosecutor at the Manhattan District Attorney's Office and served under both Robert M. Morgenthau and Cyrus R.Vance, Jr. She occupied a dual role in the Trial Division and the Investigative Division, prosecuting both violent crime and complex white collar crime. In her role as the Major Case Assistant in the Cybercrime and Identity Theft Unit, she spearheaded an 18 month investigation into a check fraud scheme culminating in the indictment of 94 individuals. She shares her trial tactics with aspiring lawyers by coaching Pepperdine Law School’s Trial Team in Malibu during the academic year.
Ms. Appelbaum obtained her B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and her J.D. from Temple University Beasley School of Law where she was a Beasley Scholar and a Note/ Comment Editor on Temple Law Review. Ms. Appelbaum is admitted to practice in the state courts of New York and California and in the United States District Court for the Central District of California. She is a member of the New York City Bar Association, Private Defenders Association of Los Angeles, Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles, the Beverly Hills Bar Association, and the Los Angeles County Bar Association.
